Maintaining the integrity of the rooftop car park decking surface at the Mercedes Benz dealership in Nottingham was an important issue, as leaks from the suspended deck containing acids leached from the concrete had the potential to damage valuable vehicles parked below. Specialist Deckmaster materials and expert installation have succeeded in achieving a new watertight driving surface.
Remediation and crack banding works
Working with contractors Hantall Developments and Car Park Coating (CPC), specialists in new build and car park refurbishment projects, the Deckmaster team proposed their established System R car park decking solution together with deck remediation and crack banding works to solve the issues. System R car park decking solution has been tested by BRE in accordance with BSEN1504-2: Surface protection products as a waterproofing system for water ingress protection and physical resistance to outdoor weathering.
CPC removed the existing system and dealt with some structural issues with the concrete slab, installing a new jointing system to manage limited movement. They then installed Deckmaster System R to the entire suspended deck parking facility, followed by demarcation of parking bays and drive aisles as specified. System R offers dynamic crack bridging, high levels of abrasion, wear and chemical resistance, and is available in a range of UV-stable colours to match design requirements.

Application of the Deckmaster System R has provided a crack bridging, waterproofed driving surface and an easy-clean, non-slip finish for this very busy auto dealership. Despite inclement weather conditions and a tight completion schedule, the work was finished on time and has provided the dealership with a high performance, aesthetically attractive suspended deck parking facility.
