Specified to create a clean, aesthetically pleasing and practical finish, the new multi storey car park located on Salt Lane in Coventry features Deckmaster car park decking solutions developed by resin specialists Resdev. Deckmaster System R has been installed on the roof top deck of the car park, providing seamless leak protection and waterproofing, with Deckmaster HFS ID selected for the five lower stories of the building.
Long term solutions
Resdev’s Deckmaster systems have been used extensively for car park decking applications across Europe. This installation, completed by Knutsford-based SL Construction Services Ltd, uses Deckmaster products to create a robust and attractive environment designed to perform safely in all weathers for years to come.
Compliant with BSEN 1504-2
The top deck of the car park, which is completely open to the elements, features Deckmaster System R, a flexible decking solution which has been tested by BRE in accordance with BSEN1504-2. System R combines slip resistant deck waterproofing with optimum crack bridging properties. Capable of withstanding constant trafficking, it also provides high levels of abrasion, wear and chemical resistance.
The lower decks of the car park have been treated using Deckmaster’s HFS ID, a one coat system imparting advanced levels of UV and chemical resistance together with abrasion resistance and anti-slip properties. Both systems are available in a wide range of standard and bespoke colours to match individual requirements, with the option to colour code areas including parking bays, traffic aisles and pedestrian walkways.
Fast cure for speed and efficiency
Deckmaster systems offer fast application and curing properties, bringing significant benefits for both new build and refurbishment projects. The recently-opened 600 space car park has been designed to harmonise with the historic Ford’s Hospital building located nearby and will provide quality parking facilities for visitors to The Wave, Coventry’s new water park, and the Broadgate development.
